Gazette Notices

All FSANZ decisions on applications and proposals are notified to ministers responsible for food regulation who can decide to ask for a review or agree that the standard should become law. If ministers don’t seek a review, the changes are registered as legislative instruments in Australia on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments and gazetted.

New Zealand

When notices are published on our website, a food standard reflecting the relevant changes is issued by the New Zealand Minister for Food Safety and comes into effect on the date specified in that standard.

New Zealand Gazettes are available on the New Zealand Gazette website. The New Zealand Gazette (Te Kāhiti o Aotearoa) is part of the Department of Internal Affairs (Te Tari Taiwhenua).

Food standards are available on the Ministry for Primary Industries (Te Manatu Ahu Matua) website.
