Amendment No. 230

Amendment No. 230 to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code was published by FSANZ on 15 August 2024 (FSC 170).

Amendment No. 230 contains amendments to the following Standard and Schedules in the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. 

• Standard 1.5.3 - Irradiation of food
• Schedule 3 - Identify and purity
• Schedule 18 - Processing aids
• Schedule 26 - Food produced using gene technology

It included amendments resulting from the following applications.

• A1261 – Irradiation – Increase in maximum energy level
• A1281 – Food derived from herbicide-tolerant and insect-protected corn line DP910521
• A1282 – Subtilisin from GM Bacillus subtilis as a processing aid
• A1283 – 2′-FL from GM Corynebacterium glutamicum in infant formula products
