This Notification Circular includes notices that are required to be given to the public, submitters and appropriate government agencies, under the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 (FSANZ Act).

New applications and proposals
General procedure
- Application A1222 - Steviol glycosides from Yarrowia lipolytca: To permit the use of a steviol glycoside mixture, Rebaudioside MD, that is produced by fermentation from a genetically modified Yarrowia lipolytica (Y. lipolytica), expressing steviol glycoside biosynthesis pathway genes, as an intense sweetener.

Approval and Forum notification
FSANZ has approved variations arising from the following Applications and Proposals. FSANZ has notified these approvals to the Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation (Forum):
- A1191 - Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids (471) as a surface coating
- A1202 - Food derived from insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant corn line DP23211
Once FSANZ has notified the Forum of its decision, the Forum has 60 days to either request FSANZ to review the approved standard or inform FSANZ that it does not intend to request a review. Further information on the Forum process is available at FSANZ website.
